Troubleshooting

No reading from my AirPods

The pill at the top of Home tells you what Posture Plus can see.

"No AirPods"

  • Check that your AirPods are a supported model: AirPods Pro (any generation), AirPods Max, AirPods (3rd or 4th generation) or Beats Fit Pro. Other headphones don't report head movement.
  • Connect them in Control Center or in the iPhone Bluetooth settings.
  • Wear them in both ears. Motion comes from the AirPods you're wearing.

"Motion off"

Posture Plus doesn't have Motion & Fitness access. Turn it on in the iPhone Settings app › Posture Plus › Motion & Fitness.

The angle looks wrong

If your head angle reads high while you're sitting up straight, or low while you're slouching, recalibrate: Settings › Recalibrate neutral position. Sit tall, look straight ahead at eye level and hold still for three seconds.

Calibration says it didn't get enough motion data

Make sure your AirPods are in both ears and connected, then try again.

Does Posture Plus work without AirPods?

No. Posture Plus reads your head angle from the motion sensors in your headphones, so you need one of these:

  • AirPods Pro (all generations)
  • AirPods Max
  • AirPods (3rd and 4th generation)
  • Beats Fit Pro

Other headphones and earbuds don't report head movement. Without them you can still browse your history and the tips library.

Using Posture Plus

  • How nudges work

When a nudge comes, how to make nudges stricter or more relaxed, and how to keep them quiet.

  • Your daily goal and history

How the Today card counts good posture, and what the History tab shows.

  • The tips library

Stretches and desk resets for your neck, shoulders and upper back.

Is Posture Plus a medical device?

No. Posture Plus is a wellness and awareness tool. It doesn't diagnose or treat any condition.

The neck load figure is an estimate from a commonly cited model of how heavy your head is for your neck at different angles: about 5 kg upright, 12 kg at 15°, 18 kg at 30° and 27 kg at 60°. Your own body may differ.

If you have neck or back pain, talk to a doctor or physiotherapist.
